So...if you haven't already heard, our spring break vacation was absolutely not what we were planning. Saturday morning we left for Oralando to visit Magic Kingdom and Universal Studios. (Our plans were to take it easy, because obviously I couldn't to much and keep baby Aiden safe.) We were on the road for about an hour when I decided I needed to use the bathroom. I thought I was being smart and suggested we stop at Starbucks in Tifton for me to use the restroom. My "hidden" agenda was to get coffee also. Mom and I stood in line for at least 15 minutes to get coffee and then we were on the road again. If anyone has been on south 75 between Tifton and Valdosta lately they will know that there is a good bit of construction and a lane is closed. Well, we had not been gone from starbucks for more than 15 minutes when there was a pile up and we were the last car. There was nothing that could be done to stop. And I actually thought man that was close, but we did stop. Then all of a sudden I was jolted and smelled burn. I looked around the car making sure everyone was ok, then I saw smoke. I didn't know where it was coming from my only thought was to get out of the car. Mom was saying that her seat belt was stuck, Bryan was getting out of the car trying to come around to me. I made him get mom out of the seat belt and I was trying to get my door open, but it was stuck. Dad was behind me telling me to watch out for traffic, which by the way was flying by us. I was thinking I don't care I need to get out of this car, it's smoking. So after a minute of shoving on the door I got it open and got out. Bryan and my parents were freaking out and constantly asking me if I was ok. Which I felt fine. Thankfully, I took my seat belt off not five minutes before we hit. I am very glad I did, or who knows what it could have done around my belly. Now to shorten the story a little, because I am getting very long winded...the ambulance came checked me and Bryan out (we had a cut on his head from his sun glasses and a whelp/gash on his leg) we were fine, but they told me they needed to take me to the ER so they could check Aiden's vitals. So dad and I road in the ambulance to the Adel ER, while mom and Bryan stayed behind to deal with the wreck stuff. My aunt ended up bringing us her truck and we continued on our way to Orlando. We arrived about 5 or 6 hours after we had planned, but we did finally make it. Sunday we decided to go outlet shopping becuase there was rain in the forcast for the afternoon and we didn't want to get stuck in a park with it raining. Monday morning we didn't wake up early, because it was still raining, so we went shopping some more and went to downtown Disney. Dad woke up not feeling well, and during the day walking around it just got worse. We went back to the condo to grill, on the way he said he needed a bag or something because he was feeling really sick. He ended up throwing up in the bag. We pulled over in a target to get him pepto. Mom and I ran in to get it and some paper towels so he could whipe his mouth. It took forever to find the paper towels, because the target was completely backwards compared to ours. When we got back out to the truck, he told me it was blood. So off the the ER we went. The hospital was great getting things moving. He went right back and got fluids in him and started everything they needed to do. They ended up admitting him and giving him two units of blood. We spent all of Monday evening at the hospital. They ran a test where they checked his stomach Tueday morning, found nothing then, Wednesday morning they did a colonoscopy and found nothing. Meanwhile, mom had to spend the night Tuesday night at the hospital and they had to give him two more untis of blood, totally hour units. Wednesday we decided we needed to come on home if we stable enough to make the trip. We sat at the hospital Wednesday until he was discharged at midnight. Needless to say we were very very annoyed because they hospital didn't seem to want to get him out of there and home. We got back home Thursday around one and went straight to the ER so that his GI doctor could see him. There was a lot of miscommunication and we ended up not seeing his GI doctor Thursday and finally got to leave Pheobe around 8 Thursday night.
So, our Spring break was quiet interesting. Thankfully, everyone is ok and we had to make lemonade out of lemons. No, we didn't advertise everything to people back at home, because there was nothing anyone could do. We didn't have any answers and nothing to tell anyone. We also didn't want our phones ringing off the hook and not be able to give any answers. There are still no answers and more tests that will be run next week.
